Mail(1) works but Mail(2) not working

Can you please advise my contact form 7 mail works and i get emails but when I enable the mail(2) then for client side, they don’t get any auto-respond from the form but the main(1) form send email. Any hint on what might be happening here? I have updated the plugin to the latest version and the wordpress as well.
