How to customize wp_list_categories()?

  • Hey folks,

    all my categories are listed via wp_list_categories() on a page in my WordPress Blog. This works fine but puts me in front of a problem:

    How to I put a headline above all my categories starting with an A? Then list all categories with an A, then again put a headline B followed by all categories starting with B and so on and so on.

    Any idea or help is more then welcome and thanks in advance!
