    I read your privacy snippets, but want some clarification. I include the text below just to point out where I am unclear.

    The Facebook lacks the request wording of the Twitter snippet. Obviously I am aware clicking the widget shares data. But it appears from the wording of the Facebook snippet that just putting the widget on the page causes data to be shared with Facebook apart from clicking it.

    Facebook Like, Facebook Recommend, Facebook Share official buttons
    We embed a Facebook widget to allow you to see number of likes/shares/recommends and “like/share/recommend” our webpages. This widget may collect your IP address, your web browser User Agent, store and retrieve cookies on your browser, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the widget, etc…

    Twitter
    We use a Twitter Tweet widget at our website. As a result, our website makes requests to Twitter’s servers for you to be able to tweet our webpages using your Twitter account. These requests make your IP address visible to Twitter,

    Yes, because Facebook Like/Recommend/Share official buttons show number of likes/recommends/shares without the need to click those. Facebook needs to collect the data to check if the user visiting the webpage has liked that page before or not, to change the status of button for that user (“liked” or “like”). Twitter tweet button doesn’t show number of tweets, neither it needs to check if user interacted with that button before.

    What if I turn off share counts and total shares?

    That option is only for the round, square and rectangular standard share icons, not for the official Facebook like,recommend, share buttons.
