    Hello,

I was testing PayPal Express Checkout and I’ve notice that when the customer is based in Europe, he/she can not purchase without a PayPal account, or better.

They can checkout, but the process require the mandatory registration of a PayPal account. Is it this a new standard for EU customers? so guest checkout is not really a guest checkout? ??

    Thank you

Guest Checkout is available for most transactions, but not all. There are a number of variables involved including but not limited to the buyer and seller countries. In my experience it does work fine for EU merchants, but in this case you could have something else blocking the Guest Checkout functionality.

Can you try in different browsers to see if you have a different experience?

    Hello Angelleye,

sorry for this late reply, in some way I’ve lost the follow-up when you have replied.

Technically the guest checkout is allowed, is not that PayPal is asking you to login your PayPal account and if you don’t have one, you can’t proceed.

It allows you to checkout, but the checkout process include also the registration of a PayPal account, while for US customers I have two check boxes, one for “yes create also a paypal account” and the other one for “no, do not create bla bla”

I would like to try different browsers ie Firefox, but today it seems that the checkout process does not works at all.

@icks13, as explained earlier, it totally depends on PayPal and the variables involved based on their algorithm.

I am getting confused with what you *but today it seems that the checkout process does not works at all.*
Can you provide some videocast of what exactly is not working ?

Hi Olive, don’t worry I fixed that problem. I wanted to open a new thread but after solved I didn’t.

For some reason once clicked on the proceed button that would have redirected me to the merchant, I had this error from PayPal telling that was not possible proceed and no further explanations.

It solved all when I changed the credit card number. I was using these cards https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_AU/vhelp/paypalmanager_help/credit_card_numbers.htm

particularly the VISA card with a test customer with address and billing address based in USA. As soon as I switched with an amex problem solved.

PS: When I’ve obtained the API keys I’ve used a gmail address, if I change the email that I use to login the paypal account that will receive the paypments, can I keep the API or do I have to cancel them and make a new request for the new email address that I will use associated with the paypal account?

Thanks sounds really great that you finally figure that out.

about the keys, if you are on a testing environment then that is OK to use the old sandbox keys but for LIVE always use API keys for the account on which you are going to receive payments .

With that , I am going to mark this as resolved now but feel free to write us again if you have any other questions or concerns.

Also, if you have a moment to leave a review for our plugin that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
