Well @ktdamasterpiece,

First you have to assign a page as homepage and define its template as Homepage (https://snag.gy/CKekWY.jpg).
Then the Homepage widget position will be enabled in which you can add your widgets.
SportsPress widgets like Events list have an alignment option which you should define as left for one widget and right for the other (https://snag.gy/LRzpCU.jpg)
