Hi! First of all, thank you for your outstanding plugin!

I was just thinking that most people would trade the always showing “minimized settings” button with a less intrusive solution, such as:

    – a simple link in the footer.
    – a link in the Privacy policy page.
    – the ability to show the button only in the Privacy and policy page.

    What do you think?

@galadh thank you for your feedback.

To be honest, I was first thinking the same scenario:
    – minimized button visible on every page only if visitor does not accept cookies
    – no minimized button if visitor accepts cookies, but something (link/button/…) in the policy page

Than I remembered that user should have the possibility to manage his preferences easly, same as when he has used the banner the first time. For this reason I decided to show the button in every page.

But I understand your point. Maybe there could be an option in the admin page to choose if to show the button in every page, and add a shortcode o something similar to enable a link in the footer and in the privacy policy..

Could this idea be the way?

I agree, that button is too intrusive. I would go for a simple link in the footer.

    PS
Ciao Nicola e complimenti per il plugin ??

+10 for the admin page checkbox, many of us already have privacy policy page, thx

That’s exactly what i was thinking!
An option in the admin page to limit the visibility of the button to the selected privacy policy page or to completely disable it (in which case, a shortcode to enable a link to the banner to place wherever it is appropriate would be perfect for customization).
I think it would enrich the plugin.

    Thank you for your attention!

P.S. :I keep asking myself why this is not the top download plugin for GDPR compliance. I have tried tons of plugin and yours is clearly the most comprehensive solution. The ability to preemptively block the cookies, to save a log and to toggle the consent is nowhere to be seen.

Ciao, concordo penso che la possibilità per disabilitare i Cookie dovrebbe essere presente solo nella pag. Policy

    Grazie

Ok guys… I’ll include this behaviour in a next version of the plugin!

    Hope to release soon ??

    PS:
@troglos quella K non mi era nuova ?? grazie mille ??
@galadh I think that the plugin could be improved, but I am happy to hear your “feelings” ??

visto che ho installato il plugin su 3 siti, spero che l’opzione per disabilitare i cookie sia ” nascosta ” grazie 1000 in anticipo ??

yes, i vote for link option too. Its just too many “buttons” on one page sometimes.

The only “better” solution for cookies in terms of visibility and consumer friendly commes from cookiebot. But the policy behind is strange. not much use.

guys you should check the v. 2.0.4 of the plugin… the minimized button is now optional and I have added a shortcode to get links that open the banner ??

    Let me know!
    Nicola

    Thank you Nicola,

Unfortunately I am having a “Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined” error. Probably it was there even with the previous version, but I’ve noticed it just now.

    The error line:
    document.cookie = “pll_language=it; expires=” + date.toUTCString() + “; path=/”;</script><script>;NMOD_SCK_Options.searchTags=[];NMOD_SCK_Helper.init();</script> <script>jQuery(function($){ // DOM is now read and ready to be manipulated

You know the website I am talking about, so you could check it by yourself. Let me know if you need further information to solve this issue.

Thanks again for all the work you’re doing ??

    Hi @troglos,
I think that the problem is caused by the script that follows mine:

in code you reported (and that I have seen on your site) I see “<script>jQuery(function($”

The problem there is that jQuery is called before it is loaded. As you can see, jQuery is included in the cached js of Autoptimize, that is called later in the page.

Is still jQuery in the exlude settings of Autoptimize?
Thay put there jQuery for default.

No, in my configuration jQuery wasn’t in the exclude settings of Autoptimize.
I’ve just added it and now the error is gone.

    Grazie 1000 per l’ultimo aggiornamento ??
