• Hi everyone,
After upgrading to the latest WP version, my Add Media doesn’t upload images through the add media pop up page anymore. It keeps acting like it’s loading but nothing happens…even when I want to add images from my computer, it opens the window but fails to load what I select.
Strange thing though, is It loads when I use the media library but I can’t put the image into the post. what should I do? can anyone help? thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

This might actually be one of two things (I just did a test on my site, and things appear to be working with WordPress in general).

Firstly, make sure your browser cache has been completely emptied (https://www.refreshyourcache.com has a great step by step for all major browsers if you are unfamiliar with this).

If that does not solve it, I’m still inclined to think it’s a conflict, either with your theme, or a plugin. You can use the Health Check plugin to check for this, it includes a troubleshooting mode that’s designed for these kind of scenarios and will help determine if it’s caused by a theme or a plugin.

Hi, I tried both and none worked. The only thing the health check pointed out was that my PHP Version needed to be updated with help from my host. Could that be it? It didn’t note any problems with any plugin or theme(Unpress theme).

Hmm, so in Health check you went to the Troubleshooting tab, enabled it and you still couldn’t perform any uploads?

What if you go to the Tools tab instead (in Health Check) and run the file integrity check, does it say everything is good?

I didn’t try to upload any images the first time, but I just tried it and it worked!

Does it mean there’s a problem with one of my plugins?

What do I do now? Do I leave it in troubleshooting mode?

It does sound like a plugin is causing an issue for you, yes.

You can either enable a plugin at a time in troubleshooting mode to find out which plugin is causing the problem, or you can just leave the mode entirely, it’s up to you but I’d normally recommend finding out which plugin causes the issue so you can report it to them.

Also, don’t know if this helps; one of my plugins – the W3 Total Cache, shows this :

FTP credentials don’t allow to write to file /home2/music71/public_html/.htaccess

W3 Total Cache Error: Files and directories could not be automatically created to complete the installation.

    Please execute commands manually
or use FTP form to allow W3 Total Cache make it automatically.

I’m curious, would you be able to share some information about what plugins you have installed (The health check plugin helps with this as well, if you go to the Debug information tab, there’s a copy and paste button at the top you can use to get information for pasting right into the forums)?

This would help do some testing if nothing else ??

As for the W3 Total Cache settings, I’m afraid I don’t use that plugin so I’m unfamiliar with what it is asking you to do and I’m not much help there then.

Well, I don’t know what happened really, but logged on today and everything’s fine now.
Still trying to find out what I did right, lol.

    Thank you for your time…
