    Hello,

regarding to the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming May 2018, could you please advise if:

    – Genesis Simple Share is setting cookies with personal information from visitors, like IP-address,…?

    – Are they collecting, storing or sending personal information from visitors locally or externally?

  • No, it’s a simple sharing plugin. It doesn’t store anything.

It is setting cookies of the third party services you are using. A lot of cookies.

Please make it possible to block the loading of the button script if visitors don’t consent to the cookies.

We need to be able to add a little code to the javascript.

OK, solved this by switching to a scriptless share plugin…

Enabling “Hide count” at Genesis → Simple Share will disable data sharing with social networks upon page load, just in case anyone else stumbles across this and doesn’t want to switch plugin.
