    fed up to write over and over again but people MUST KNOW.

    I write here on WP Review and not at help desk of plugin creator. so it is clear and visible to everyone.

    Hesitated to update for past 3 months due to past 2 crashed site on PRO ( PAID ) new version update.
    I’ve asked hereunder if I could safely do it this summer 2018.
    Nobody reassured me on the safety on PRO update as previously asked…(see below)

    So today…seeing my plugin are not updated…I jump in, I press the buttons…
    and BINGO ! Free update correct BUt

    VERSION PRO : NO. PLUGIN UPDATE FAILED. Impossible via dashboard.
    Have now to delete again and reupload it to server manually.

    Used to be good first year but NOW > FANTASTICALLY BAD
    I will stop using it when subsription stops ( it was my second year in a row)
    Sorry for mistyping but I have no time to write about this EACH TIME I UPDATE.

    NEW QUESTION DUE to NEW UPDATE

    Hi,
    I write this question here for everybody to now the LATEST about plugin PRO update.
    Can we update SAFELY to V.3.3.3 (19 SEP 2018) WITHOUT CRASHing our site ?
    Since all last crashes ( 2 upadtes, 2 crashes) I don’t dare to do it.

    Please reply with a SURE answer.

    After a recent update that crashed my site I now have a nice message saying Update Failed: Plugin update failed for the PRO version.
    dev. PLEASE. Give us instructions. Clear and easy to find. Seriously ??
    I am sick and tired of this.
    I am afraid to update each time there is a new version, it’s insane.
    This is why I put another 1 star. Serious Updates would bring a 5 stars.

    [ EDIT FOR PRO USERS WHO WANT TO UPDATE from 3.0.8 to 3.0.9 ]
    DO NOT UPDATE via WP dashboard.( for me it failed – very rare…)
    – Re-download the new PRO version ZIP folder on warfare website
    – Deactivate your current PRO version and DELETE it.
    – Upload the ZIP manually to your plugins.

    BTW I found the crashing problem with solution on your webite.
    It would be BETTER to warn users BEFORE and avoid us to look for a solution after the DRAMA.

    We apologize @blue_life and agree that this was handled badly. We will learn from this and it will not happen again moving forward. We have stabilized things with 3.0.5 and will be releasing an update today which should resolve most of the remaining issues.

    When I get an email about new versions from social Warfare I already know its going to break more than it fixes. It scares me to see their big update announcements.

    You try to report to them the issues and they are arrogant. Its time to realize your approach to updates is broken. Its an amazing product otherwise but the updates always break websites or conflict with plugins. …And SW is the ONLY plugin that conflicts with my conditional load Disqus plug. When you report this to them they do not approach it as if its “their” coding causing the issue. Before that conflict it was an issue with WP Rocket. Thankfully WP Rocket’s support much better.

    I’ve had to empty on of the SW .js files completely to get Discus conditional load plugin to work. I was tempted to upgrade to this and see if that would be fixed while other things broken. But my feeling was right after checking in here to see feedback thus far.

    [UPDATE] For info The plugin update got reviewed and corrected. It’s working now. Hopefully this will not happen again.
    BUT. I will look twice and wait longer before updating on next Version release.

    I upgraded today. SW plugin now creates a 5 to 20 second delay between page loads. This issue goes away when disabling SW plugin, so I’ve now completely stopped using this plugin and will find another paid solution.
