Twenty stars!

OMG, this plugin’s INCREDIBLE! I initially thought it was over-featured & decided to write my own. Then realised that, to give my little “See all the posts in …” widget the flexibility I wanted, I was going to end up melting my brain to create something not unlike List Category Posts. So I installed it, and I’m glad I did!
With just this one plugin, you can almost create your own WordPress. It runs a post loop based on the criteria you set. Output as much or as little content per post as you like. Choose whether to include thumbnails and how to include them. Choose whether to have your output in a sidebar, in a post or page, or make a whole post of it. Style it how you want. Put completely different selections on different pages.
List Category Posts provides a shortcode that you may use in your main content or a widget. READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS to get the full idea of just how much control you can get over your site’s content, using only this plugin.
I originally wanted a simple sidebar list of all the posts in the current category, whether we’re viewing a post or archive. It took half an hour from first installing the plugin, including my learning curve. Here’s the shortcode I’m using.
[catlist categorypage=yes catname=yes numberposts=-1 display_id=yes orderby=id order=asc excerpt=yes excerpt_size=10 excerpt_class="index-excerpt" posts_morelink="Open" posts_morelink_class=more-link? date_modified=yes dateformat="M Y" date_modified_tag=time numberposts=10 pagination=yes?pagination_prev="Back"?pagination_next="Next" no_posts_text="No more articles in this section" class=index-widget instance=sidebar]
See what it’s doing? Magic!
