Cannot log in after any change to wp-config.php

  • I have installed the 2.7.1 version and was able to log in just fine. Then I decided to add the security keys and secret phrase to the wp-config.php file and I get a blank page when trying to log in. I removed the lines and reverted to the original version of the file and still cannot log in. I deleted all temp files, too. I had the same problem when tried to add a language mod line in the same file. What am I doing wrong?

  • It is possible you unintentionally changed something else when you added the keys (which are a good idea to add).

    try starting over – rename wp-config.php to something else.

    copy of wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php again. Then copy the login info from the renamed original file into the new file, and the same with the keys. Pay really close attention that you are not changing anything else at all. Make sure you use a text editor and not a word processor.
