• Hello all,
I’m building my first wordpress website on my own server. I downloaded a free theme (ProSense, by DoshDosh).

Yesterday I made some changes to the code for various parts of the theme, without any problem. In cpanel, I was able to change file permissions to permit modification (read and write).

Later, I installed some Adsense code in the appropriate parts. Everything seemed to be going fine.

But since last night, if I go into the theme editor and select a file to edit, all I see is a blank page where the code should be! I have double checked in cpanel Filemanager to make sure permissions are still set to read/write; they are.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Not sure whether this is related, but I’m also getting strange error messages when I try to update pages, i.e. “Safari could not open the page because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection.” If I reload that error page, I get redirected to my wordpress page edit menu, with my changes saved.

I have tried using Firefox instead of Safari; I can now SEE the code, but there’s no button at the bottom to update the file, so I still can’t make changes.

I hope someone can help me figure this out.

    Please, anyone?
