• On the backend we seem to have no issue, but on the front the search does not show our custom taxonomies results. We created them with Toolset and they do show in the Relevanssi control section as indexed. But the results just spit out anything and everything. For instance ‘Skate’ should only have 2 results (from the family fun category) but instead it shows literally everything under the locations taxonomy.

Since it showed fine in the backend and worked there I never thought it would have an issue on the front with Toolset. Is this a compatibility issue or is it a bug?

Can I see your site? That would help.

    Here it is:

    my confused site

The catch here is that you will get results, but they are the results from old pages/posts, not the newer locations taxonomy.

The new taxonomies are being pulled in here into these categories: Locations

It doesn’t seem to see these at all even though it says they are indexed.

I’m not sure I follow. Please give me some concrete examples of what you’re expecting to find, and what is not being found.

If you search for a taxonomy term, you want to find all posts with that taxonomy? And you’re not seeing that?

Yes. Well the problem is this: we have Locations set up in a Location Category custom built by Toolset.

Now if we search using the regular method, its not reading any of these at all. I’m not sure if something is missing in the back that it needs, but it does have a custom excerpt field and a title. So at the very least I’d expect the title to be hit on in the search results. So far all I see though is it hitting on regular posts and pages.

Ah, so if you search for a location name, you want to see the location archive page appear in search results? That’s not possible with the free version of Relevanssi, that’s a Premium feature.

In the free version, when you search for a taxonomy term, you will see posts that are tagged with that taxonomy term. (If that’s what you want and are not seeing happen, make sure you’ve selected the location taxonomy in the list of taxonomies to index.)
