I’d really like to have the option of using just the narrower secondary sidebar on some pages. Is there any way that can be done with custom CSS or changes to the stylesheet? The only single sidebar options give you the wider primary sidebar, which also doesn’t have the popout function (the responsive expand collapse arrow).

Alternatively is there a way to add the popout function to the primary sidebar, or make it narrower? I have a lot of pages that need the wider screen space, especially when viewed on a tablet, but it would be good to have a narrow or popout sidebar available on them.

Also, is there a way to have the sidebar arrow popout option always available – even on normal width screens? It only becomes available for me on my iPad.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,

Please share the link to that page of your site where you want the sidebar narrower.

    Thank you!

I don’t have it turned on at present – but for instance this page I would like to have just the secondary sidebar:

My preference would be to use the secondary sidebar rather than making the primary one narrower, as the width is fine for the homepage. If the primary sidebar could have the expand/collapse feature then it would be fine though.

I just realised that if I view a single post as portrait on an iPad that the primary sidebar does collapse and has the expand collapse arrow.

    eg. https://projectsplinter.com/2018/05/08/season-4-date/

In which case, is there a way of a. changing the default screen width that this behaviour kicks in to a larger number. 2. Having the behaviour available on larger width screens as well, but by default be expanded?

*edit* I’ve just added the left hand sidebar (right side content) to all the pages. Specifically there are pages like this one:
    https://projectsplinter.com/filming-locations-map/
where the body becomes too narrow, particularly on a landscape view tablet.

I think if I could change the setting for the sidebar toggle/transform so it minimised at a wider screensize, and the arrow to minimise was always there for all sizes, that would solve my problem. No need for it to be narrower.

    Thanks!

Hello, and suggestions on this one?

I’d still really like to find a solution to this. As the thread title is a bit misleading now I understand the sidebars better, I’ll just repost as a new question.
