We got a call from someone who registered and uploaded his CV on our job board https://www.jobibex.com saying that he could access the resume he uploaded on our https://www.jobibex.com simply by googling his name. He even said that he could access other resumes using the same method.

I think I got it all covered in terms of resume access as only paid members (employers) have this privilege

Can you please advise on how to shut this window?

    Cheers,

    Hi!

There’s an option that says “Discourage search engines from indexing resume listings”; is this checked for you? If it isn’t, check it. Note that it could take a while for search engines to remove the resumes from their results.

    Thanks Richard,

I know I have seen this option someone but I can’t locate it now:(

Hi! you can find it under Resumes -> Settings -> Resume Visibility:

    /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=resume&page=resume-manager-settings#settings-resume_visibility

    Hi Richard,

I went to change resume visibility settings and there’s no option and found it’s all set to “has_active_job_package”. Yet job seekers still complain that anybody can view their resume with a very basic keyword search. I think WP Job Manager needs to look into this issue seriously.

    Hi @jobibex,

To block content from showing up in Google search results, Google needs to be able to access the page, and then “see” the meta noindex tag:

So, make sure you’re *not* blocking by including disallow /resumes/ in robots.txt.

Yoast has good information about this here:

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
