Header.php copy and paste mistake

Hi,
I wanted to move my menu down below my logo so thought I did it right (following Youtube tutorial) and it didn’t work. I copied the coding before saving so I was able to past it back into the header.php. But without, I believe, having the spaces correct (it all starts on left) i.e.:

<div id=”page” class=”site”>
<div class=”site-inner”>
<?php _e( ‘Skip to
And not tabbed in correctly. It now also comes up with this error when I say uploadUnable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.
Please help. Have learnt my lesson to use child theme (unsure how, but I will do it and work it out).
