paypal not working with Woocommerce

  • for at least 36 hours now i have had this issue when I add an item to cart and view cart to choose shipping method and click paypal button on the bottom of the page to go through paypal system, the screen changes slightly like it tries to work but then I am right where I was. I tried enabling popups on my browser and still same result.

    @brharris27317, We apologies for the inconvenience, this is a random issue which works and then not work, we are still looking into the root cause of this problem and will get that resolved soon.

    You can turn OFF smart button from WooCommere > Settings > Paypal Express Checkout > scroll down to the last of page and turn it OFF, and that will to switch Regular Express Checkout button and that would work fine .

    To follow up on that, what he means is that you can disable Smart Buttons to go back to the original PayPal buttons. That will resolve the issue. We’re working to figure out what’s going on with the Smart Buttons and we’ll get that updated ASAP. The problem is that it’s very random, and it’s even happening on old versions of our plugin where we never had reports of it until just recently. We’re talking with PayPal about the issue, too, as it might be on their end.

    Again, though, just disable Smart Buttons for now if you having this problem and you should be good until that gets resolved.

    We did just release an 1.4.8.9 update that we believe will resolve the issues you’re having with Smart Buttons. Please apply the update, clear any caching / CDN tools you have, and let us know if you continue to have problems with Smart Buttons.
