short code showing up on the front end

I am working on an ocean theme–horsewhisperer.ca– and am encountering some weird stuff. First the dropdown menu showed the content, now when I put a contact form 7 in the page, first I put it in a sidebar, and instead of it showing the contact form, it shows the short code. I put several other things in the sidebars, and that works okay, but not the contact 7.
I then took it out of the sidebar, uninstalled the plugin and re-installed it, and it still did the same thing. I then created a page and put the short code in the page..
The contact page still shows the short code on the front end, and not the form.
Any ideas??
