• Hi,

I have created Portuguese pages on my site and using the Loco Translate plugin have created the Portuguese po file (by duplicating the en file and renaming) and began translating some of the strings. I notice on the registration page that required fields use a string “%s is required” where %s is replaced with the name of the field. So I have provided a translation of “%s is required” being “%s é necessário” and created a Portuguese version of the UM Registration form and edited the label of the Username field and the validation message is now correctly displayed “O nome do usuário é necessário”, however the same substitution for the password field is incorrect because apparently it is not “A Senha é necessário” but should be “A Senha é necessária” which means that using substitution strings doesn’t work well in all languages. By the way, Loco Translate reports that your bundle is not fully configured as it is missing a template (pot) file. I guess that the en-US file is supposed to be the template?

    Best wishes

    Andy

As an update to this, other translation issues I have are with buttons:

    1. The Register button on the Portuguese Login page is linked to the English registration page – how can I poing to to the Portuguese page?
    2. The Login button on the Portuguese Registration page is linked to the English login page – how can I point it to the Portuguese page?
    3. The Logout page – I do not seem to be able to create a working Portuguese Logout page that redirects to the Portuguese home page rather than the English one – is this possible?

    Best wishes

Another issue is translating the email templates – the instructions given at https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/251-using-different-translation-of-html-email-template-files is surely not the solution for such a professional product? Having to create folders in the file system is surely not the WordPress way?

Ok so I followed the instructions in https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/251-using-different-translation-of-html-email-template-files and created a new folder under themes\{childtheme}\ultimate-member\email\pt_BR and copied the file resetpw_email.php from the parent email folder to this new language folder and edited the translations. When I navigate to the Portuguese reset password page, enter my email and submit the form – the wheel spins a bit and the reset password page is redisplayed with the email address field empty i.e. it just resets. The same email address used in the English form works perfectly and I receive the confirmation message and the email.

    Hi @andymaggs65,

What version of the Ultimate member you have installed on your site?
Currently, we only support fully functional multilingual setup via WPML.
We’ve greatly improved WPML compatibility and emails for other languages in the latest 2.0 version of the core, please update to the latest 2.0 version.

    Hi,

I am using v2.0.11 but use Polylang for providing language support rather than WPML as at the time I implemented it I did not have the budget to purchase WPML and converting to it now is, I suspect a major undertaking. In what way does your product support WPML that would deal with the issues I have reported?

    Best wishes

I take it you have nothing further to say to help me resolve the issues?
