Require Email Activation not being delivered to all email accounts

I would love to be able to use the Require Email Activation feature of UM, and while it works some times, and the activation emails will get delivered to gmail.com domain email accounts, I cannot get it to work with my personal domain email accounts. I’ve worked with my host provider to see if my PHP.ini configurations needed some TLC, as recommended on one thread I found, but my host provider support helped me test the registration process on my site and they received the activation emails to their email accounts.
I’ve verified that I can receive emails to the accounts as I’ve tested them outside of this plugin and the messages are received. This feels like there’s some sort of restriction on what domains it can deliver to, which is very odd. My domain ends in .net, so I wonder if it’s being filtered on that top level domain? Again, all things unchanged, I am able to receive the emails, but only to select email accounts.
