How to set up RSS feeds

I received a question from someone saying they didn’t know how to subscribe to RSS feeds on my blog. I honestly don’t know how to do that either. I’m using the vista-like theme if it matters. Before I started adding widgets, there was a button in my sidebar that looked like the RSS button, but it has since disappeared. Do I need to do something for people to get feeds from my site?
