• I’m brand new to custom wordpress development so just looking for some guidance from those with more experience. I’m trying to figure out how to create a front end login for visitors. I understand that you can create custom roles using the Roles API but instead of restricting access to admin content, I’d like to restrict access to page content (i.e. allow them to have access to view the content of a few more pages than a user who isn’t logged in). I’m not looking for a full answer just a push in the right direction. Where do I start with understanding how to re-direct to these special pages that users have access to (maybe they become available in the menu) and second how do I create the ability for them to register such that an admin can review and approve/reject a new registration for this kind of user? Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not a developer, but maybe you want to peep into the code of the dozens of plugins that do this already?
