wsod after deactivating custom homepage

    After unticking the “activate custom homepage” ( Benutzerdefinierte Startseite aktivieren überschreibt die Standard WordPress Startseite) Button on top of the front page settings i get the white screen of death. not even the wordpress admin bar is showing. i deactivated all plugins, but the effect remained. I am using a child theme of responsive theme but had the experience before i switched to the child theme. with custom frontpage everything works fine. but i don’t need the custom frontpage because i need to output the events on the front. if it helps to buy the pro version i’ll do it immediately, but if this is not solving the issue i would rather not.

    i am using wp 4.9.5–de_DE

    since it is for a festival starting pretty soon i would appreciate your help a lot.

    Hi,

    Can you please try below steps.
    Please go to setting–>reading and select “a static page option”.
    Now select your Home page from the “Homepage” drop-down option.
    Save the changes are check the result.

    Let me know if you are still not able to set up a normal page as a Homepage.
