hi am also having the same problem.
i change my password by going into the db.
i am still getting redirected to the login page.
i tried after to go to:
wordpress/wp-admin/post.php
after i login but i am still redirected to the login page

My problem began when I changed the WordPress address (URI) and Blog address (URI) from https://homecomers.org/weblog/ to https://www.homecomers.org/weblog/ under General Options. Suddenly my site administrator logon was no longer a registered user on my blog! I registered a new user ID and went to phpmyadmin to raise its level to 9, so it could do things. I removed the www again and it works fine now.

Eek! I’m screwed! I can’t login to the admin section!
I have followed the directions here and a few other related posts. I copy and paste the password from the lost pass retrieval and it just reloads the login page. Any ideas?

OK, an update (be kind – I am new to WP and PHP/MySQL)
I tried the PHPMyAdmin fix – nothing
I tried the wp-login.php fix for Safari – nothing (BTW – I tried it in Safari and Firefox)
I created a new user and they have the same problem (refresh of the login page upon successful login)
I have deleted my cookies – nothing (actually this is when my problems started. Before this I was unable to log out – I was just sent to the post screen when I clicked logout. I delete my cookies and could log out, but now I’m stuck on the other side.)
I can retrieve lost passwords and register, just not login. I have checked permissions on the wp-login.php file and “fixed” the database via CPanel.
Any other suggestions? As it is I am locked out of my blog…

I got it working again. The trick seemed to be a copy and paste of the wp-login.php file from another site (sexygeekgirl.com?). I still don’t understand what was wrong, but I’m back into my site and debating whether or not to ever log out. {:o)
Using a plugin that lets me see users currently online, I am always listed twice – both as admin and guest (same IP regardless of where I login from) so I assume I am “stuck” in there – cookie issue? Anyway – if anyone has similar problems and gets them fixed, please let me know what steps you took to correct the problem. Thanks!

I am also having the same problem… I know the password i typed is right because when i type a wrong pw is says “incorrect Password” but when i type a correct one in, it would just reload and it wont login neither will it tell me if the Pw is right or wrong… this really sucks!! how can i stop this because what if i begin to post that means i will lose all my post and will have to put them all back the hard way… is this some type of bug? it stinks!

Also when i was logged in as Admin. It wont log me out when i clicked on logout. I wanted to logout because i wanted to post and i dont like posting on Admin because i can’t change like the nickname so that when i do post under Admin, i dont want admin showing in my blog.
