Old Email Address vs. New

  • After many years, I have changed my primary email address and dutifully updated the address at my Dashboard. Ever since then, however, I am notified twice of comments awaiting moderation: I am notified at my new address and at my old address.

    Mystified by this, I started snooping around and have concluded that the only place where I can find my old email address displaying is in my profile’s Username, which cannot be changed.

    Can anyone help me sleuth out this mystery…?

  • When you first set up a WordPress site, when you set up your user account for the first time it uses the email for your normal user account to also configure a site email. You can change this under the Settings -> General in the Email address field found below the site URL fields.

    Or if you have access to the database, you can search for your old email address in the Options table and update it there.
