So both updates broke my site’s backend and showed ‘404 not working’ error. Wheb it happened after updating to 7.1, I thought there was a problem with previous version so I downgraded to 7.03 then.

But same happened with 7.2 as well. Everytime I update, I cant access into dashboard anymore. Fronted works fine.

Since I cant make my site inaccessible, I had to downgrade it to 7.03 again. Any idea why it’s happening.

Fyki, I have done switching themes, deactivating all plugins etc etc.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I have also had this issue with both 7.1 and 7.2. Will also be downgrading to 7.03 again until I can work out what the problem is.

Can you confirm you are using WordPress 4.9.5? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/. ?If you update to the most current version of WordPress, does this resolve the issue?

Thank you for replying. I have just updated WordPress to 4.9.5 and SEO to 7.2. Unfortunately problem remains.

I am going to revert SEO to 7.03 for time being.

When you update the Yoast SEO plugin to the latest version, do you see any errors while log into your dashboard or do you only see a blank white screen? Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:
    1. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.
    2. Check for conflicts.
    3. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.
If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.
If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

Hi, the issue remains same (I tried latest version as well).

It’s just yoast seo is causing the problem.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Did you perform the conflict check by disabling all the non-Yoast plugins and switching to the default 2017 theme?
