Problem with links changing to https

    Hi,

    I have an issue with a page on a website where we link out to 2 other pages. These pages we link to are not https. We add the link to the page and for some unknown reason it changes the link to https.

    I saw another thread on Really Simple SSL support where a user had same issue which was eventually resolved but I don’t even have this plugin installed so don’t understand why I am getting the issue. The problem goes away as soon as I deactivate Autoptimize plugin.

    Any ideas?

    and what are the 2 links in question @motorhome-vagabond, what should I be looking out for?

    Hi,

    Thanks for quick reply. The two links are those that say online catalogue 1 and 2. The second link works fine. The first link tries to link to https even though I don’t add the link in that format.

    As soon as I disable the plugin the link works again.

    I see and confirm the link is still https:// when AO is inactive (one can disable AO by adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL) but I’m pretty much flabbergasted, I don’t see how/ why AO could cause this. Yet.

    So let’s dive in; can do some tests by disabling only JS, then only CSS and then only HTML optimization? Goal is to identify in which of these this gets changed.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply. So are you saying you want me to remove the tick for the box ‘Optimise Javascript Code’ and then test and then do same for CSS and HTML?

    correct ?? goal is to know which of those 3 particularly is causing this erratic behavior.
