Optimise Wordfence Firewall

    Hi,

    When optimising wordfence firewall i get the error

    “We were unable to create the wordfence-waf.php file in the root of the WordPress installation. It’s possible WordPress cannot write to the wordfence-waf.php file because of file permissions. Please verify the permissions are correct and retry the installation.”

    I have done wordfence diagnostic tool and dont see anything out of the ordinary. What should i do next?

  • Hi @graemeallan,

    Could it be that another plugin installed on your site is changing permissions of files and directories? (as described here)

    Could you please try temporarily disabling all other plugins and reactivating them one by one?

    To do so I recommend the “Health Check” plugin which allows you to disable all plugins and switch to a default theme, but only for your user.
