Mailchimp’s preformatted rss codes function randomly, don’t give proper excerpts
-
Hi,
I am trying to include an excerpt of my most recent blog post in a Mailchimp newsletter with previous posts listed by title only. However, the preformatted codes – for “excerpts” or for “custom” – appear to function entirely arbitrarily with no regard for what the documentation claims. My post (https://www.survivorshaven.com/2018/03/14/the-struggle-is-the-same/) is impeccably coded in WP, it has a description of proper length, I can see **nothing** that would cause a problem – but Mailchimp’s default preformatted RSS code for Excerpt plops in the entire post as a solid gray block of text. I have tried using other RSS codes and find that they give me either the entire post as a single line, or the entire post as a single line *twice*, or the entire post as a solid gray block. Forget having any formatting or images – I haven’t even dared hope for that, despite having the featured image plugin for Mailchimp set up.Here is the latest iteration…

That yielded the entire post as a single line, twice.
