‘Customize’ sidebar change site identity font

  • On wordpress.com in Lodestar in the left ‘Customize’ sidebar allows you to change the font of the Site Identity, on the wordpress plugin that sidebar function is missing. Is there a plugin that I can install to overcome this problem. I’m hosting the wordpress plugin in a Synology UI.

    I would like to use Oswald font for the site identity

    Hi there, the easiest way to do this would be to install a font plugin, such as Easy Google Fonts. It will also give you flexibility going forward in the event you wish to change other things to Oswald, or another font.

    Hi, you need to use the web inspector built into your browser and find the CSS classes and then create font controls at Settings > Google Fonts. Once you have done that, you can set the fonts you wish to use at Customize > Typography and click on Theme Typography, make sure the font control you wish to change is selected and then set the parameters as desired an save.

    If you are not familiar with the web inspector in your browser, take a look at this support page on How to Find Your Theme’s CSS where you will find some brief screencasts to get you started with it. I find it an invaluable tool when working with CSS.
