Create 2nd column in Default just to display video

    Id like to add another column to display youtube videos in the standard theme. But without messing up any other part of the theme.

    I could categorise all videos as @video@ and set the column to display only category video. Could anyone point me to a theme that does this or tell me how to ad in another column.

    Im at https://www.africantunafishing.com – although its just the default theme installed atm.

    The online tutorials ive managed to find are either too simple or assume I know more than I do. I don’t know any php but can cut and paste code like a champ.

    You could use a text widget and just past in the embed code from the YouTube video. Change the width to about 180 and the height to 150…you’ll do that in two places in the embed code. Should end up with something like this.

    You could use multiple text widgets for more videos or past as many as you want into a single widget.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I got that suggestion up and running at the moment, but Id like to be able to make each one a full post rather than just text link.

    and then group all the video tagged posts into their own column.

    Anyone have an idea? Create a second column that only displays posts from 1 category?

    (and the other column would display all categories except that 1)

    Can it be done in WordPress?

    I’ve not tried listing posts from a single category in a sidebar/column, just sticky posts, but it could be done – in theory.
