• Hello! I just implemented the wpDiscuz plugin on my website, and it’s working great, but I have run into one little back end problem:

I am using WP > Settings > Discussion > Comment author must have a previously approved comment … in order to moderate blog comments from non-registered users.

However, all comments by my registered users are also being held for moderation — even if they have many previously approved comments.

At first I thought, maybe they were not logged into their account when trying to leave a comment — but with the WP Discussion Setting enabled, that shouldn’t matter, because they have many previously approved comments in the database prior to creating their account.

Is this a conflict within the plugin? Or am I missing a setting that will easily resolve this?

Thanks in advance for your consideration!

Could you please also check is there “Comment must be manually approved” option enabled (in Dashboard > Settings > Discussion)? This option also should be unchecked.

Also, if you’d like to disable commenting for guests, you need to navigate Dashboard > Comments > Forms admin page, then edit the default form, check ” No” value for “Allow guests to comment” option.

Hi! Thanks for your fast response. I really appreciate that.

No, “Comment must be manually approved” is NOT checked.

And I would like for guests to be allowed to comment. However, I do moderate their first comment (via the WP Dashboard settings) to make sure it’s not a spam account.

The problem remains: Registered user comments are being held for moderation, even when they have a pre-approved comment.

    Can you help?

    Thank you!

I’m sorry, but wpDiscuz has no relation with comment approving, this is managed from WordPress side.

Thank you, I understand wpDiscuz does not handle comment approving or moderation.

I am alerting you to a conflict between wpDiscuz and the native WP comment system. Your plugin causes WP > Settings > Discussion comment moderation preferences to be ignored.

Would you kindly review this issue again? I think you’ll see that it’s a significant problem to be addressed. I imagine I’m not the only website that uses your plugin, but also moderates comments…

    Hello @bluevelvetelvis

I want to share some useful feedback on this topic.

I have wpDiscuz and didn’t want moderation on comments. This wasn’t happening despite doing all the proper setup.

As soon as I uninstalled another plugin, Askimet Anti-Spam, the problem was automatically solved. So please take a look at some kind of anti-spam plugin which may be forcing moderation on comments.

    Hope it helps.

By the way, Gvectors Support team, you need to improve your knowledge on compatibility with other plugins. Take note of this for your FAQs and documentation.
