Currently when you click on the “Download” link under the PDF title it does a direct download. Great! This is perfect. However, the odd time I need to add a description of the PDF. So if I add text in the WYSIWYG editor for that download, is there a way I can get it to take me to that download page instead of the direct download? I’ve googled this and looked for something in settings that I can update but haven’t found anything. If I can’t, then what is the point of the text in the WYSIWYG editor?

For you simply need to use a different link template like: link-template-calltoaction3.php.
    Shortcode example:
    [wpdm_category id="category-slug" cols="1" toolbar=0 item_per_page=10 template="link-template-calltoaction3.php"]
