• It goes pretty much in the opposite direction of what WordPress Core needs. The UI in Core is simplistic anyway and with Gutenberg it’s even more stripped down. We need more ways to use WordPress as a generic CMS and not more ways to do better blogging.

Virtually none of my agency’s customers use WordPress for blogging. Gutenberg doesn’t help in any way with building actual useful sites with WordPress: shops, event calendars, booking systems, hotel management systems etc.

Again, I’m not against the idea of a powerful built-in page builder, I’m just not okay with its current implementation.

Thanks for taking the time to review, no matter what the stars reviews are important as the product is still being worked on.

What ways do you want to be able to use WordPress more as a generic CMS? Anything specific you are looking for?

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, what would make Gutenberg useful for you?
