multisite wp_admin not found

I have Multisite set up on subdomains with wildcards set dns setup subdomains. The subdomain link for dashboard goes to subdomain folder and says file not found. I know it is resolving and pointing to the subdomain folder but it’s not finding WordPress files. I have the MU mapping plugin installed. The sites I add cant find the WordPress files. I have added wild cards to dns of the primary and A record of the subdirectory. All configs for multi are set up and you can open the primary site’s dashboard and visit the primary site no problem. The subdomain sites added cant bring up the dashboard or visit the site. I can ping the subdomain site and get a reply. When you visit the subdomain site dashboard it says “file not found” so it is not finding the wp-admim file. This is set up in the /public_html/ root no subdirectories.
