Changing transparency of Category and Tag text in posts

Hi.
I’m using ‘Dark mode’ with an image background and looks great with the wonderful Hamilton theme but…when viewing posts the display of Category and Tags text are very faint against the image background. Is it possible to change transparency for category and tags?
Took a wild guess in Dashboard>Appearance>Editor>Stylesheet with:
.dark-mode .meta {
color: rgba( 255, 255, 255, .9 );
}

…but no luck. Am I on the wrong track?
