WooCommerce Product Short Description

    All of the products on this art site contain content in the Product Short Description (and not in the main area).

    However none of that is being included in the search results. Nor are any of the Product tags. They tag the artist’s names and other keywords, such as color.

    I’ve installed Better Search as a widget in the sidebar. It’s the one at the very bottom of the sidebar. Ignore the other search fields.

    If you type in “godis” as in looking for paintings by the artist Jessica Godisak, you will find only one result (because I put her name in the main content area for that product to test it out).

    Similarly a search for “wood” only finds paintings with that in the title, and not in the description or tags.

    Any way to remedy this?

    Not directly within the plugin unfortunately. It requires using a few functions to be added to filter the code.

    See this here for searching in a woocommerce author field that you can replicate for your short description once you have the correct name of your field
