about Custom Content and images

    Hi Nick,

    I was recommended this plugin because I only want to change the text that appears when using the featured page plugin. I installed the plugin and I didn’t see where you can type in the text, I also don’t see any option to select a custom image. The problem is that when i installed the plugin my example didn’t look like the standard featured page plugin, the image got all messed up and when selecting the default text excerpt it also picked another text, I find it weird since the base of this advanced plugin is the same as the standard one.

    Hi Sam,

    Something strange is definitely going on. For one, something is conflicting with the plugin, because when you have Show Custom Content selected, a text area should appear. Same for the Custom Image.

    I notice at the top of the widget is a dropdown. That is not standard. I am guessing this is allowing you to add a CSS class? Are you using a plugin to add this? If so, can you let me know what it is and I can test? This might be causing the conflict and the one-fourth class that is being added to the standard one is why both widgets look different on the front end.

    Hi Nick,

    Which section do you mean when talking about custom CSS? I think I haven’t installed anything specific to change the appearance for my website except for other genesis plugins/widgets. Here you can see all my installed plugins: https://i.imgur.com/VESM9rw.png

    Weird that something is conflicting. I also saw that in the standard version you can select the image size for the featured image, is this also something that is normally visible?

    I can give you my login information if you are really curious to finding out the problem. But then again I need a way to give that in private.

    I was referring to the Genesis Widget Column Classes. However I just tested this and there is no issue. That said, everything you have described and shown in screenshots leads me to believe there is a conflict with another plugin or perhaps the theme. If you can send me temp login info at info at outermost dot co, I can dive deeper later today. Note the co, not com.
