• I have tried to use the help and chat, but nobody really indicates they know anything about segmentation– demographic, psychographic, lifestyle targeting, or am I losing it?

I have an audience for my blog, and that audience has a preliminary demographic profile as follows:

    Age: 45+
    Education: College+
    Sex: human
    Race: preferably humanoid
    Interests: versatile, philosophical, open-minded
Activities: reading, writing, chess, music, etc.

Now is there any way I can set up SEO so that it is configured to match the reading, writing, and thinking skills of this particular audience?

My SEO reading ease scores are always red. My sentences tend to be “too long” for SEO, and the reading score too high. It takes forever to “improve” them, and the precise meaning I want loses something

  • Hi @tampamamba,

    Thanks for your comment.

The readability analysis in Yoast SEO helps you make your text easier to read and understand. Unfortunately, it can’t be configured based on your demographic profile. The advice in the readability section is not the be-all and end-all advice, but it does give you important clues to the perceived difficulty of your text. Please, refer to this post for more information about the readability analysis in our plugin: https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-readability-analysis/

Notice that not every bullet has to be green. What you should aim for, though, is a green bullet overall – the one in the tab that reads Readability.

We definitely recommend using the readability analysis, but if you want to stop using it, you can disable it site wide or per user by following these steps.
