This plugin is almost plug and play!

Modern Way:

1. Go to the WordPress Dashboard “Add New Plugin” section.
2. Search For “Taskbuilder”.
3. Install, then Activate it.

Old Way:

1. Upload Taskbuilder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.

FAQ

Q. Who can create projects?

A. Only Admin’s can create projects and edit them.

Q. Who can create tasks, checklist, comments?

A. Admins and every co-workers from a project can create these.

Q. Can every member see every project?

A. Only admins (administrator) can see all of them. Other user roles can only see their assigned projects.

Q. Can the plugin be extended?

A. Sure, lots of actions and filters are added by default and will add more of them.

Simple and Powerfull

Simple and powerful. Easily integrates into both WordPress Pages and BuddyPress groups. The best part is the support. The plugin owner responds within 24 hours or less and fixed a bug immediately. I recommend buying the plugin for full functionality.

Pretty good, but very specific

All around no bugs which is a first in looking for a project management plugin. It works pretty well and makes sense, which is also a first. It’s not pretty compared to others, but it works, so that’s better, but it’s really not pretty. However, it’s VERY limited. The permissions are implicit which makes it easy to manage as you don’t have roles to deal with. But you have no ability to allow someone to see a whole project and all tasks in it. You can only assign a user to a project so they can see or edit the project itself (manager and co-worker, so that’s good), and then ALSO assign them to a task so they can see AND EDIT the task. In other words, you can’t have a project with open visibility to the team of all tasks and only have people edit assigned tasks. If tasks had a simple “viewable” checkbox, my hunt would be over. Unfortunately without that visibility this will not work for our needs.

I have started using this product and find it quite useful especially as it is affordable. It does have limitations in charting and reporting but as a tool for a project manager it is good.
