Installation

Requirements

• Houzez theme installed and activated
• For formats that use XML the PHP SimpleXML library will need to installed
• That WP Cron is firing automatically or an alternative cron job in place
• For formats that send or receive files via FTP the PHP FTP functionality will need to be available

Automatic installation

Automatic installation is the easiest option as WordPress handles the file transfers itself and you don’t need to leave your web browser. To do an automatic install of Property Hive, log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the Plugins menu and click Add New.

In the search field type “Houzez Property Feed” and click Search Plugins. Once you’ve found our plugin you can view details about it such as the point release, rating and description. Most importantly of course, you can install it by simply clicking “Install Now”.

Manual installation

The manual installation method involves downloading the Houzez Property Feed plugin and uploading it to your webserver via your favourite FTP application. The WordPress codex contains instructions on how to do this here.

Once installed and activated, you can access the import tool by navigating to ‘Houzez > Import Properties’ from within WordPress.

Updating

Updating should work like a charm; as always though, ensure you backup your site just in case.

I ordered this plugin because I needed to import a large number of properties via an XML link and then export them to another website through a Kyero link. The plugin is excellent and performed exactly as expected, allowing me to successfully import and export the properties I needed. When I required assistance, the support was outstanding. So things didn’t work as I would’ve liked them to with this plug-in and a certain specific feed.Don’t get me wrong, the plug-in worked fine, but Steve took on board feedback, understood everything that I was trying to explain and not only released timely updates to the plug-in to accommodate requests but also took time to actually help with specific issues, offering code updates, remote support etc. Unbelievable levels of support and I would suggest anyone upgrades to the Pro version, its worth it and helps pay for levels of support like this. Keep up the good work with this.
