Installation

Setup FileBird (or File Bird) is easy and takes less than one minute.

1. Download the plugin from www.remarpro.com, unpack it, and upload the [FileBird] folder to your wp-content/plugins/ directory.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins‘ menu in WordPress.
3. Go to your main WordPress menu > Media to create a folder to manage your files.

Do all of my previously uploaded files remain the same after I first install this plugin?

Yes, you can find all uploads in the All Files folder.

When I move an image to another folder, does this action affect how the image appears on the page/post?

No, it makes no changes to your images on the site’s front end.

If I create a folder or category, does this override the default WordPress path `wp-content/uploads/`?

No, it does not. The plugin helps organize files into folders visually. Every file permalink/URL remains unchanged.

What happens to my site if I uninstall FileBird?

No worries, your website will be completely unaffected. Upon deactivation, all your files can be found in the default WordPress media library.

I needed to post document resources for public access in a clean way. I found FileBird to help me organize those documents into folders in my Media Library, and was planning to just manually build pages with links to the individual docs. But then I saw the Filebird Document Library plugin and that was just perfect. In a few minutes I finished what I had expected to spend a couple hours doing. And it looks better than what I probably would have made, too! Support helped me hide the elements I didn’t need and now I’m all done! Love it.

FileBird Pro gives us much of what we need when managing our images and documents. It is really powerful to be able to add a FileBird Gallery block that displays dynamically all images within a FileBird folder. The developers have been very responsive to my questions and requests. It still has some quirks but is essential to our website.

Once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty useful. In the beginning, there was some preplexing behaviour around folders disappearing after creating them. Turned out the issue was LiteSpeed cache which they have clear instructions about. I recommend.
