Configuration

Go to the new option page Affiliate Super Assistent (ASA1). On the Setup panel you can set your Amazon Access Key ID and Secret Access Key.

Installation

Just unpack the amazonsimpleadmin folder into your plugins directory and activate it on your wordpress plugins page.
Then you will have the option Affiliate Super Assistent (ASA1) on your wordpress options page.

For category music CDs what is the placeholders for artist?

Are there any special placeholders for MP3 downloads?

There is a special built-in template for mp3 files. Use [asa mp3]ASIN[/asa]

The plugin does not show the price for Kindle ebooks correctly.

Unfortunately the Amazon webservice does not support Kindle prices at the moment. See https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?messageID=208072

I get the PHP-Error: Warning: domdocument::domdocument() expects at least 1 parameter, 0 given in \wp-path\plugins\amazonsimpleadmin\lib\Zend\Service\Amazon.php on line 129

There are two very similarly named PHP extensions, dom and dom_xml – the dom extension is built into php5 and loading the dom_xml extension (designed for php4) will override the default extension.
I suspect that loading php_domxml.dll (on Windows) in your php.ini is the cause of this problem. Try to disable it and see if that helps.

Easy to use and I like the design of the horizontal box. Just need to insert the shortcode with your desired ASIN product number.

Couldn’t Get It to Work – Error 429

Error 429 Too many requests After installing the plugin and generating the API on the Amazon website and inputting the correct info but the Plugin and the Amazon API Scratpad give the error: Error 429So far, I haven’t been able to make any successful requests. They always return the same error message: Error 429 – Too many requests.I sent a message to the HELP center at Amazon. Still, I’m doubtful they will remedy the problem judging by all of the other people having the same issues and nothing actually mentioned about a fix at all.Amazon’s excuse was that I didn’t have 3 sales which is BS because I have over 100 in the past two months. So Amazon is being a dick with Their API which I found out wasn’t an uncommon issue from a lot of Amazon Associates out there dealing with API problems. Before getting this plugin, I recommend that you test the API on the Amazon Scratchpad first. If you get errors there, this plugin will not work.I’ve stopped ripping my hair out dealing with Amazon Support and moved on to another ‘Working’ plugin with no API needed.Pissed off because I really wanted to use this one too.

I’ve been wasting my time trying to get this to work. Their collections only ever show some of the products set up, never all of them, and different ones with each page load, like some kind of lottery. Sadly there is no info in the debug.log as to why some products are missing. One would think that it might be something with the amazon API, but the caching function of this plugin should solve that. It doesn’t. I liked the simplicity behind this plugin, but if it just flat out doesn’t work, there’s no point to it.

This plugin work well with a small amounts of products added only. When I add over 5 ones, my website’s bounce rate increase and then rank and sale down. I spent more time to find out the cause. I also thought it is the best plugin before, however, I limit to use it now. It has too many features that I don’t need so it make increasing page load times. I think if the plugin have some update on this problems, it is the best one.
