Installation

Here’s a description of how to install and activate Ninja Tables and get started with it.
e.g.

Install Ninja Tables using one of these methods:

Method 1: Install directly from the WordPress Admin panel: go to Plugins -> Add New -> Search for Ninja Tables, and click the Install button.

Method 2: Download the ZIP file of Ninja Tables manually from the www.remarpro.com plugins repository and upload it through the Admin panel of your WordPress Dashboard: go to Plugins -> Add New -> Upload Plugin, browse to the downloaded Zip and upload it.

Method 3: Download the ZIP, extract it and manually upload the extracted folder through FTP to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress installation.

After Installation activate the plugin from the plugin dashboard.

NinjaTables is a superb plug-in. I use it to organize and display varied data and images across all the segments of my website. With simple configuration I can obfuscate portions of the data, provide searching, sorting, and filtering of data and format it such that it is easily consumable on desktops, tablets and portrait phone aspects — every user has access to all the data! I can fully customize the layout and color scheme of the tables to match my site using some simple configuration and also some CSS at times. Conditional formatting, transform value, excel formulas, responsive breakpoint, are all features that I use regularly. HTML fields allow for such much, like adding details blocks, images, and preformatted blocks.. almost everything I have tried has worked with very little fuss. The process of importing data is seamless from Sheets.. while I have used the live connection to sheets and it works well — I opt to export to CSV and import my data and it takes very little time to do so. I opt for the legacy render which allows my data to be observable and crawlable in an SEO context. I have a great support experience with NinjaTables support and they have helped me work through various challenges–whether it was a bug in my process or a bug in the plug-in–they were on hand to assist and help figure out what was going on. One thing I would like to see is an ability to copy all the configurations from one table and apply it to another table.. please add this as it would save me a time. The sync from Google Sheets is great

When client with limited WP skill or knowledge need to edit tabular data on their website regularly, I implement Ninja tables since my clients ability to use spreasheets is second nature. The only thing that bugs me with the Sheets integration, is the sync doesn’t accept merge cells. For example, if I had a 2 column table, and the 2nd column was merged across all the rows, the table in WP would show the merged cell as the top-left most cell, removing the entire 1st column. It’s just a bit limiting, and only allows simple table set ups.

Ninja Tables is an excellent plugin for ease of use, functionality, documentation & support. Any developer needing a data capture and display solution, Ninja Tables tics all the right boxes. Purchasing the Pro version should the first step, and to back that up, I am busy working on a advanced php short code function, and contacted Pro support for assistance. Even through my request was outside their normal support scope I received an answer, and detailed coding solution first thing in the morning. Just this one support email paid for the annual plugin subscription, and I received a follow up email to get in touch if I need further assistance with the php. Excellent service!

Works out of the box for simple tables

I have also used TablePress, but decided to try Ninja Tables. I liked that the table was easy to create right out of the box. Easy to edit the table. Pro version offered with lots of upgrades, but the free version is great for simple tables.

So far so good but…
