Go back to the list of Blocks<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Post Author<\/em> <\/strong>block <\/em>displays the username, avatar, and byline of the post\u2019s author.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Post Author<\/em> block has a byline space in which you can write optional text, such as “Written by:” or “Post Author: ” to precede the author\u2019s name.<\/em> Moreover, there are options in the block settings to show author’s avatar, bio, and link the author name to the author page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Single post templates already include the Post Author<\/em> block by default. That said, you can insert this block elsewhere by clicking the Add block <\/strong>icon to open the block inserter pop-up window and search for the Post Author<\/em> block. <\/p>\n\n\n\n You can also type\u00a0\/Post Author<\/kbd>\u00a0and hit\u00a0enter<\/kbd>\u00a0in a new paragraph block to add one quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Detailed instructions on adding blocks can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Each block has its own toolbar, which contains unique controls that let you customize or configure the block. The Post Author<\/em> block has the following options on its toolbar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you click the Post Author<\/strong> icon on the toolbar, you\u2019ll open the Transform to <\/strong>options to convert the block into Columns<\/strong>, Group<\/strong>, and Post Author Name<\/strong> blocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Drag<\/strong> button lets you drag and drop the Post Author block and reposition it anywhere on the editor, while the Move up<\/strong> and Move down<\/strong> buttons let you move the Post Author block up or down on the editor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If the Post Author is inside a row block, the Move up<\/strong> and Move down<\/strong> buttons are replaced by the Move left <\/strong>and Move right <\/strong>buttons to move the Post Author block inside the row block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Text alignment options lets you choose to align the author’s name left, center, or right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The duotone filter options let you apply the duotone filter to the Post Author <\/strong>avatar that will be shown in this block when enabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The text formatting options are available when editing the Post Author block\u2019s<\/strong> byline. Here are the available text formatting options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n There\u2019s also a drop-down menu that displays more options as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Options <\/strong>button on a block toolbar gives you more features to customize the block.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Read about these and other settings.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Every block has specific options in the block settings panel. To open it, select the block and click the Settings <\/strong>button at the top-right section of the editor, or click the Options <\/strong>button on the block toolbar and select show more settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Post Author<\/em> settings let you specify the author and whether to display the avatar, the bio, and\/or link the author’s name to the author page. You may also choose the avatar size and whether to open the author page in a new tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s also possible to change the Color<\/em>, Typography,<\/em> and Dimensions<\/em> settings.
